The inaugural session of the Good CME Practice Group was held following the 2nd annual meeting of the European CME Forum, 18-19 November 2009 in London, and focussed on how education providers can demonstrate competency when developing CME programmes, implementing Good CME Practice through transparent relationships and appropriate standards.

Dr Andree Bates explains how eMarketing can be a challenge. The Publication Plan LinkedIn Group was launched in April 2009. This Group is freely accessible to everyone involved in medical and healthcare publication planning. Help us build a valuable resource for, amongst others, medical writers and communications professionals, pharmaceutical industry managers, medical journal editors and publishers. The group complements the web site at www.thepublicationplan.com.

The MedComms Networking LinkedIn Group was launched in March 2009 intended for members of the UK MedComms Networking Community based around the web site at www.MedCommsNetworking.co.uk and is intended to encourage further dialogue and to directly complement the other Community activity.

The second meeting of the European CME Forum will take place in London, 18-19 November 2009. Details about the programme and the event's supporters, are available at www.europeanCMEforum.eu. This event grows on the successes of last year's meeting; bringing together the key stakeholders in European CME to discuss the current status, latest developments and future outlook of CME in Europe. The event is being organized by NetworkPharma in collaboration with European CME experts, Siyemi Learning. Registration is now open.

www.pharmaprelaunchroi.com was launched in November 2008 to provide details of the brand new report by Dr Andree Bates of Eularis, entitled Pre-Launch Planning: Priming Your Pharmaceutical Brand for Profit and Success. Dr Andree Bates examines the concept and components of effective pre-launch planning and analyzes the environment for Pharmaceuticals today in efforts to understand why comprehensive planning for launch is increasingly important in determining ROI.

The first meeting of the European CME Forum took place in London, 4-5 November 2008 and was a great success. Details about the programme and the event's supporters, are available at www.europeanCMEforum.eu.The aim of the meeting was to bring together the stakeholders of CME to better understand each others’ roles and ambitions for European CME. During the meeting experts reviewed the current picture of CME across Europe and how it is developing both on national levels and from a pan-European standpoint. The event was organized by NetworkPharma in collaboration with European CME experts, Siyemi Learning and we are now planning together how to develop the initiative.
